Endodontics, also known as root canal treatment, is a branch of science and dentistry dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of dental pulp (veins, nerves) and periapical tissues (root tip and its perimeter).
The process where infected nerves that form on the dental canals as a result of loss of liveliness of nerves and veins of teeth that appear due to the fractures and cracks on teeth, decays on teeth or wrong treatment processes, are cleaned, disinfected and filled with canal filling materials is named as root canal treatment.
Since it aims to keep the teeth in the mouth for the longest time, it has a great importance among the branches of dentistry.
When is canal treatment required?
